RADIANT LED MODULAR HAND BENDABLE LINEAR SYSTEMS

David Morgan Associates, the London (UK) based luminaire design company, has designed and developed 2 new LED lighting systems for the Radiant division of Belfer Lighting which operates from headquarters in Farmingdale, NJ.

The new designs are both hand bendable, modular, linear LED systems.   One is for interior use and the other is for exterior lighting applications and both will be introduced at Lightfair 2007 in New York, the largest architectural lighting exhibition in the USA.

Serpentine exterior linear LED lighting system

The Radiant exterior LED is the first system of its type to be hand bendable, on-site, and to offer adjustment in both the axial and vertical planes.  Designed to be used in a wide variety of exterior building façade lighting, wall-grazing, landscape and other exterior architectural lighting applications.   The individual LED lighting modules can rotate through 30 degrees around the axis of the system and 30 degrees between the joints allowing the system to be curved to follow building profiles and architectural details and for the light output to be aimed to give optimum grazing or feature lighting.   A variety of high efficiency TIR lenses and can be fitted to the system allowing complete control of the light distribution.   The aluminium die-cast modules house a constant current driver circuit running 4 high power white or RGB LEDs with a total power rating of up to 12 Watts per module depending on LED type.

Power Cove flexible linear LED system for interiors

The Radiant Power Linear System is designed for use in a variety of interior architectural and retail applications including indirect, cove and cabinet-lighting.    It combines the long-life advantages of LED with the ability to fit any space providing the effect of a bespoke installation whilst offering the convenience and value for money of an ‘off-the-shelf’ system.

The modules are attached to a 4 conductor, extruded aluminium power rail that provides both power and data channels, for dimming and colour change control, in addition to providing additional heat sinking for the LED system.

The power rail can be hand bent on site to provide continuous LED lighting that follows building profiles and architectural details.

Each section of the linear system can be joined together with an inline connector that is itself illuminated with matching LEDs.  This enables the system to provide continuous lighting, without unlit gaps, up to a maximum length of 120 ft, depending on the power of the particular LEDs used.

David Morgan Associates has a ten year continuous working relationship with The Belfer Group, Inc. and worked closely with Belfer Group CEO, Bruce Belfer, to create these new products undertaking the design and engineering process up to the point of manufacture.

New Belfer Website

March 13th, 2007

With the ever changing market conditions, Belfer Group must move quickly to provide the lighting specifier with the latest updates. BGI has realized that more and more specifiers use the web for choosing their lighting equipment. As of February 2007, we have launched a website that is specifier friendly. We will be using this medium to update all our current items, as well as launch any new products our engineering team has made ready for the open market. Please Visit www.belfer.com
